 Our Mission:

The locally run Berkeley County Habitat for Humanity affiliate welcomes you to our website.  We are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent affordable housing.  The houses are then sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Company Profile

We are an "Affiliate", a local independent, non profit organization responsible for directing Habitat for Humanity house building work in Berkeley County area.  Affiliates are the foundation of Habitat's grass-roots approach, with all decisions made at the local level within the context of a signed agreement (Covenant) with Habitat for Humanity International.  Affiliates are primary responsible for their own fund raising and are expected to tithe (10%) of their undesignated income to Habitat headquarters for work in developing countries.

The goal of the Berkeley County Habitat for Humanity is to:

a)  to put the elimination of poverty housing on the hearts and minds of residents of Berkeley County;

b) to create opportunities for partner families to improve their lives;

c) to restore dignity, hope and faith, while providing opportunities for Christian Fellowship and service to others; and

d) to build quality, affordable homes in Partnership with low income families.
